Job Summary:

We are seeking a full time meticulous and detail-oriented individual to join our team as an Estimator. The Estimator will play a crucial role in analyzing project requirements, evaluating costs, and preparing accurate estimates for construction projects. This position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with project teams, subcontractors, and suppliers. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of construction methods, materials, and industry standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Review project specifications, drawings, and other documents to understand project scope and requirements.
  • Conduct quantity take-offs and measurements to determine material, labor, and equipment costs for construction projects.
  • Solicit and analyze quotes from subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers to determine pricing for project components.
  • Evaluate labor and material costs based on historical data, market trends, and industry benchmarks.
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates and proposals for bidding purposes, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and architects to develop cost-effective solutions and value engineering options.
  • Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and negotiations with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Maintain and update cost databases, estimating tools, and documentation to support accurate and efficient estimating processes.
  • Assist in the development of project budgets and schedules as needed.
  • Provide support during project execution, including change order management and cost tracking.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or related field.
  • Proven experience as an estimator in the construction industry, with a strong understanding of construction methods and materials.
  • Proficiency in construction estimating software (e.g., Procore, PlanSwift, Bluebeam) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent analytical and mathematical skills, with the ability to perform detailed quantity take-offs and cost analysis.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of construction contracts, specifications, and industry standards.
  • Familiarity with building codes, regulations, and permitting processes.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in estimating and documentation.
  • Certification or accreditation in estimating (e.g., Certified Professional Estimator) is a plus.
