METROPOLITAN ST. LOUIS SEWER DISTRICT – LOWER MERAMEC WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT
This state-of-the-art wastewater treatment facility is capable of processing 28 million gallons per day (MGD) of secondary, with a peak build-out capacity of 56 MGD by 2020.
KWAME, as a sub-consultant to Jacobs Engineering (formerly Sverdrup Civil, Inc.), managed construction of the new wastewater treatment facility, and provided inspection services, claims management, quality control and schedule monitoring. KWAME oversaw eight separate construction projects including Site Preparation, Site Preloading – Phase I, a 1.5-mile wastewater Outfall sewer to the Mississippi River, the Wastewater Treatment plant, Electrical Supply, Site restoration and Landscaping, Lagoon Decommissioning & Sludge Removal and, finally, Site Preloading – Phase II to prepare the site for future facility expansion.
