The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District contracted KWAME as construction manager for their major $131 million rehabilitation and expansion program at the Missouri River Wastewater Treatment Plant.

The Digester Rehabilitation Project replaced existing digester covers, gas mixing systems, boilers, digested sludge pumps, digested piping and appurtenances.

The secondary expansion of the Missouri River treatment plant, designed to treat up to 80 million gallons a day, was constructed adjacent to the existing plant. The expanded facility provided a new activated sludge process, new final clarifiers, UV disinfection, a sludge pump station, meter vault structures, a low-lift pump station, a blower building, a WAS thickening building, solids dewatering process building, locker room expansion and appurtenances.

KWAME provided constructability/biddability reviews during the design phase to confirm feasibility, completeness, consistency and construction cost estimates of the plans, and reviewed all final documents before advertisement for construction bids.

KWAME served as the MSD representative during construction to ensure that the Contractor meets all performance, quality and safety obligations.
