Fundraising continues for first-generation, college-bound students
ST. LOUIS, MO — Because of the impact of the coronavirus pandemic, The Kwame Foundation has canceled its 17th annual golf tournament, which raises tens of thousands of dollars each year for scholarships for first-generation, college-bound students. The Kwame Foundation, a 501c(3) organization, is fundraising online so they can continue to help students. Donations can be made at www.kwamefoundation.org/donate

Prentiss’ responsibilities include assisting the construction project manager on project responsibilities, including scheduling, cost estimating and other aspects of project performance.
ST. LOUIS, MO – Bill Smothers has joined Kwame Building Group, Inc. as Chief Estimator. His responsibilities include compiling project estimates in support of KWAME’s role as an owner’s representative.
ST. LOUIS, MO – Katina Shannon-Crawford of Spanish Lake, MO has joined Kwame Building Group, Inc. (KWAME) as a Project Administrator. Shannon-Crawford’s responsibilities include contract changes, tracking documents and maintaining staff schedules for the construction management firm’s projects, including the new St. Louis Major League Soccer Stadium and America’s Center expansion.
ST. LOUIS, MO – Martel Hulsey, of Olivette, MO, has joined Kwame Building Group, Inc. (KWAME) as Business Developer and Diversity Monitor. Hulsey’s responsibilities include creating business and marketing opportunities and maintaining existing client communications. As Diversity Monitor, he oversees construction sites to ensure and verify minority involvement on projects.

ST. LOUIS, MO – Kwame Building Group (KWAME) has begun work on the $1.8 billion Addition to the Washington State Convention Center (WSCC) in Seattle, WA. As a subconsultant to the Clark-Lewis Joint Venture team, KWAME’s role is to augment the project’s quality assurance and quality control staff. The 1.4 million-square-foot expansion is expected to complete in 2021 and open for events in 2022.

ST. LOUIS, MO – Construction is complete on major new construction and renovation projects at six schools in the Dallas Independent School District. As a member of the Dikita\\Vanir Joint Venture team, Kwame Building Group’s role is to augment the construction staff and provide project management services. This is the first time that this district has awarded program management services to a minority-led team.

ST. LOUIS, MO – Kwame Building Group (KWAME) has been selected as the MLS4THELOU Ownership Group’s representative and program manager for St. Louis’ new Major League Soccer (MLS) stadium. Located in St. Louis’ Downtown West area, the new St. Louis MLS stadium is scheduled to open ahead of the 2022 MLS season. KWAME is serving an integral role in the pre-construction phase, including project planning and scheduling; value engineering and budgeting; selecting project partners and maximizing MBE/WBE participation; coordinating with the city and utility companies; and other project management. The Mortenson | Alberici | L. Keeley Joint Venture has been selected as the pre-construction general contractor. The architects include a partnership of St. Louis-based architecture firm HOK and Snow Kreilich Architects.
