PORT AUTHORITY OF ALLEGHENY COUNTY – NORTH SHORE CONNECTOR
The North Shore Connector project extended the Port Authority of Allegheny County’s 25-mile light rail system known as the T.
The 1.2-mile extension expands the borders of Pittsburgh, providing an important link that will be used by residents, workers, tourists, students and others.
The light rail line runs underneath the Allegheny River to the city’s flourishing North Shore area. The project involved construction of twin-bore tunnels beneath the river, reconfiguration of the Gateway Subway Station and a new North Side station.
KWAME, as part of the Tri-Gold Joint Venture, provided construction management for this challenging extension. Our participation included creation and management of all project control variables including cost control, documentation control, and project scheduling.
KWAME also provided technical support to the team in areas of construction procurement, inspection, quality assurance, and project safety.
