LAMBERT-ST. LOUIS INTERNATIONAL – EAST TERMINAL
KWAME provided Construction Management services including design management, constructibility review, and estimating services for the East Terminal Project at Lambert-St. Louis International. The project included an aircraft apron and air cargo road, the new two-story, 235,000 square feet terminal and concourse, 12 aircraft gates and a new parking garage along with elevated roadways.
KWAME also led an informal Value Engineering effort which resulted in a significant reduction in the cost of construction without changing the design program or aesthetic impact.
The project presented a number of challenges, including a small site, limited resources, and multiple user needs. The airport wanted to maximize available retail space. It was also important that the airline’s brand was enhanced by the terminal and that the passenger flow was efficient.
