ST. LOUIS, MO – The St. Louis Regional Chamber honored Kwame Building Group (KWAME) as a leader in the St. Louis region at its inaugural Arcus Awards event last month. KWAME was selected from hundreds of nominations as a finalist for two Arcus awards – “Achievement in Educational Attainment” and “Achievement in Economic Inclusion.”KWAME was honored as a finalist for the “Arcus Award for Achievement in Educational Attainment” for its exceptional commitment to workforce education and skills development. Throughout its 20 years in business, KWAME has been passionate about education by funding more than $150,000 a year in college scholarships, providing internships and training, and sponsoring innovative youth mentoring programs for minority students.

KWAME also was a finalist for the “Arcus Award for Achievement in Economic Inclusion” for its community leadership to promote a diverse workforce. KWAME is a long-time leader in ensuring optimum minority and women participation on major construction projects nationwide and in the St. Louis region, including the new Mississippi River bridge project at St. Louis which has far exceeded U.S. Department of Labor diversity goals.
