ST. LOUIS, MISSOURI – Cortex Innovation Community (CIC) has selected Kwame Building Group, Inc. (KWAME) as Owner’s Representative for a $5 million renovation project at the Center for Emerging Technologies (CET) in St. Louis, which will be rebranded as CIC@CET. Design for Phase I is underway, and all phases of construction are expected to be complete in 2015.CIC@CET is comprised of two buildings totaling 87,000 square feet at 4041 Forest Park Avenue. Built in 1907, the buildings have been renovated and expanded numerous times. This renovation project will create a dynamic and vibrant space to meet the changing needs of entrepreneurs developing innovative advanced technologies.

Phase I will include renovations and installations to approximately 7,500 square feet of space on the first floor of the historic Dorris Motor Car building creating a new entry, co-working space and a game room. Subsequent phases will add new office spaces on the second floor of the Dorris Building, and upgrades to other areas of both buildings.

KWAME is providing project development consulting, scheduling, construction budget, contract preparation and coordination, construction planning, project and cost controls, inspections, recordkeeping and other services as the owner’s representative.

CIC – St. Louis manages and operates CIC@CET. CIC and Arcturis provided architectural design for the project.
